Wow! I am in love with prefab housing and all of the options available. NOT the double-wide you may be envisioning. Got a piece of land that you can build whatever you want on? A dream I know. Lots of options here if you like a contemporary, green housing . Hoping the costs will go down as popularity increases. Style isn’t cheap. Currently seen in more costal, ok, hipper areas like Washington state, California, New Jersey, New York. Also a great alternative for second homes—if you have the wallet for it. Check out this site for a list of designers/companies that manufacturer these beauties! Note that most of these pre-fabs come complete with cabinets, windows, exterior and interior finishes. Take that into account when looking at costs. Have fun dreaming! I know I do. http://www.prefabs.com/
